The Journey of Indies (JOIN) Program powered by Xsolla, is designed to address the unique challenges faced by indie and mid-tier developers in Brazil, offering structured support through educational programs, mentorship and talent selection, training, collaboration and publishing and distribution support.

Program Details

JOIN 2025 will be divided into two stages: Crossing the Threshold and Meet the Hero.

The first stage - Crossing the Threshold (April to June, 2025) - consists in a business and export qualification program, conducted on online platforms, aimed at preparing small and medium Brazilian entrepreneurs in the digital games sector for the growth and internationalization of their businesses. The program includes mentoring and workshops with investors, business leaders, researchers, and experts in entrepreneurship, exportation, and negotiation.

The second stage - Meet the Hero (June 24 to 26, 2025) - is an event held in a hybrid format, aimed at attracting national and international investments and business opportunities for the Brazilian digital games industry. The event includes a business round, pitch presentations, and an exhibition of Brazilian indie games.

Courses

Meet the Hero

Evaluation Criteria - Pitch (0 to 5 points each):

Proficiency in English
  • Clarity, fluency and appropriate vocabulary.

Oratory/Cohesion
  • Logical structure, persuasiveness and effective communication.

Presentation Resources
  • Strategic use of visual elements (slides, GIFs, videos) without pollution.

Design
  • Professionalism, visual identity and slide organization.

Business Plan
  • Feasibility, revenue model, target market and financial projection.


Approval for the Pitch Test:
  • Minimum required of 20 points in total (average 4 in each criterion).
  • Highlights: Teams with high scores will have priority for pre-Demoday mentoring.
  • Note: The Pitch Test is eliminatory. Only those who pass (20+ points) advance to the Demoday, where they will present to real investors.
